You have just completed your Philips ZOOM whitening in Abu Dhabi, a safe and modern procedure that uses advanced cold-light technology and a gentle, non-aggressive gel to brighten your smile with minimal sensitivity. Most patients notice a lighter, fresher shade immediately. With proper care, the whitening effect can last for up to 5 years — and often even longer when supported with at-home maintenance trays.
At our Abu Dhabi dental clinic, Philips ZOOM whitening always comes with clear, easy-to-follow aftercare instructions. These guidelines help you protect your new shade, reduce temporary sensitivity, and enjoy a naturally radiant smile for as long as possible.
What to Avoid
During the first week after your whitening procedure, your teeth are more vulnerable to staining. To protect your new shade and minimise sensitivity, please avoid foods and drinks that contain strong pigments, including:
- coffee and chocolate
- red wine
- fruit juices and brightly coloured drinks
- dark sodas (such as cola)
- bright berries and deeply coloured fruits
- beets, carrots and other highly pigmented vegetables
- strong sauces such as soy sauce, ketchup, mustard or adjika
It is also important to avoid smoking during this period, as tobacco smoke can easily stain freshly whitened teeth.
Try not to consume very hot and very cold foods or drinks together. Sudden temperature changes may increase sensitivity.
What to Do
Use a remineralising gel in custom trays for two weeks to strengthen enamel and minimise sensitivity.
Brush your teeth with a medium-bristled toothbrush at least twice a day but ideally after every meal..
Visit your dentist at least twice a year for preventive check-ups.
Maintain excellent oral hygiene: floss daily, use high-quality toothpaste and an irrigator.
Want Even Whiter Teeth?
To enhance or maintain your whitening results, you can do at-home whitening with Philips ZOOM gel — always under your dentist’s supervision.
The gel is placed into custom trays and worn either overnight or for 1–2 hours during the day for 1–2 weeks. Your dentist will help you choose the right schedule depending on your tooth sensitivity and desired shade.
