The Role of Dental Implants in Modern Dentistry
When a natural tooth is lost, the surrounding bone begins to thin out over time. This process is known as bone resorption. Left unaddressed, it can lead to a sunken facial appearance, loss of support for adjacent teeth, and difficulty with speech and chewing.
Dental implants are the only solution that actively prevents bone loss by replicating the function of a natural tooth root. The implant integrates with the jawbone and becomes a secure base for attaching custom prosthetics, such as crowns or bridges.
At TRUE SMILE, we use biocompatible titanium systems that fuse reliably with bone and support long-term results both functionally and aesthetically.
Implant Services We Provide
We offer several treatment options, designed for various degrees of tooth loss and bone condition:
- Conventional Implants
The gold standard when bone density is sufficient. After detailed planning, a titanium post is placed in the bone and allowed to heal before the crown is attached. - Same-Day Extraction and Implantation
In suitable cases, we can remove a damaged or failing tooth and place an implant during the same visit. This approach reduces the number of surgeries and helps preserve bone but usually, the implant is left to heal before the final crown is attached. - Immediate Temporisation
When appropriate, it's possible to give you a temporary tooth right after the implant is placed. This is called "immediate loading." It means that instead of waiting months with a gap or a healing cap, you leave the clinic with a natural-looking temporary crown already in place. - Full-Jaw Restorations
Through techniques like All-on-4, we restore a complete upper or lower arch of teeth using just a few well-positioned implants. This fixed alternative to removable dentures offers enhanced bite strength and stability. - Sinus Lifting Procedures
If the bone in the back upper jaw is too thin for implants, we perform a sinus lift to gently elevate the sinus lining and insert bone grafting material.
Who We Help
Implant dentistry is appropriate for a wide range of adult patients. We care for individuals with:
- Single-tooth loss
- Multiple missing teeth
- Long-standing edentulism (total tooth loss)
- Failed bridges or repeated restorative failures
- Bone loss or previously rejected for implants
Our approach is inclusive and adaptable. Even patients with minimal bone may still qualify through additional supportive procedures. And for expats living in Abu Dhabi, we offer clear communication, international-level care, and continuity throughout treatment.
From Assessment to Results: What to Expect
Every implant journey begins with a structured evaluation:
- Comprehensive medical and dental history
- 3D bone imaging using CBCT scans
- Digital impressions to design your future smile
- Detailed discussion of goals, scheduling, and fees
We map every detail before treatment begins, ensuring that you're fully informed, medically cleared, and comfortable with the proposed plan.
The Deeper Impact of Implant Treatment
Our patients often tell us that their implants changed more than their bite. They smile more freely, eat without worry, and feel more like themselves again.
Whether we're restoring a front tooth that must blend in seamlessly or back molars that endure daily chewing force, we design every restoration to feel as good as it looks.
Why Patients Choose TRUE SMILE
At TRUE SMILE, our approach is grounded in both expertise and empathy. Every case is guided by advanced diagnostics and handled in our fully equipped surgical suite, right here on Al Reem Island. You'll see familiar faces at each visit, receive care in your preferred language, and feel supported through every stage from first scan to final crown.
Whether you're replacing one tooth or rebuilding your whole smile, our goal is the same: to make sure your new teeth feel natural, function beautifully, and help you feel like yourself again.
Your Step-by-Step Implant Journey
- Consultation: We begin with diagnostics, imaging, and planning
- Implant Placement: Performed under local anaesthetic for comfort and safety
- Healing Period: Allowing time for integration (typically 2–3 months)
- Final Restoration: A crown, bridge, or full-arch prosthesis is secured in place
- Follow-Up Care: Ongoing checkups and hygiene visits to ensure success
We provide temporary options during healing when needed, so you're never left without function or aesthetics.
Advanced Cases, Handled with Care
If you've been told that implants aren't possible due to poor bone quality, sinus proximity, or previous failures — we're happy to offer a second opinion. Our team routinely manages:
- Bone regeneration with delayed implants
- Sinus lift followed by staged placement
- Immediate restoration after long-term tooth loss
- Replacement of failed or outdated restorations
Modern techniques can dramatically improve treatment outcomes even in cases that once seemed untreatable.
Looking After Your New Smile
Once your implants are in place, we help you protect the result for life. This includes:
- Professional cleanings tailored to implants
- Regular exams and digital monitoring
- Advice on home hygiene tools and routines
- Early intervention if problems arise
Our goal is to make your implants feel and function like your own teeth.

We answer frequently asked questions
Yes, while the crown or bridge on top may need replacement over time due to wear, the implant itself, when cared for properly, can last a lifetime.
Surprisingly, most patients say no. The area is fully numbed with local anaesthesia, and the procedure is done gently and efficiently. Afterward, you may have mild soreness, similar to what you’d feel after a simple extraction. We’ll provide everything you need to manage recovery comfortably.
Absolutely, as long as your condition is well controlled. We’ll carefully assess your health, and if needed, consult with your physician to coordinate care. Many of our implant patients have chronic conditions and do very well.
Not at all. Even if your bone has shrunk, we can often rebuild the area through grafting or sinus lifting.
Absolutely. After your implants have fully healed and your new teeth are in place, you’ll be able to eat comfortably again. They’re designed to work just like real teeth, giving you strength and stability with every bite.
No. We custom design your restoration to match the shape, size, and shade that fits you perfectly. Most people will never know they’re not natural teeth.
For most cases, from planning to final restoration, the process takes about 3 to 4 months. If bone grafting is needed, it might take longer. But we keep you informed and comfortable at every step.
We offer full-arch fixed restorations supported by implants. These are completely different from traditional dentures, they don’t move, don’t come out, and give you back a full, strong bite.
We hear this often — and yes, we can. We take extra time to explain every step and offer solutions like numbing gels, calming techniques, and if needed, light sedation. You’ll never be rushed or judged.
A 3D scan tells us everything. If the bone isn’t thick or strong enough to support an implant, we’ll recommend grafting. It’s a simple, well-tolerated procedure, and we’ll explain it fully if it’s part of your plan.
Absolutely. Many of our patients are new to the UAE. We offer consultations in English, Arabic, and Russian, and we’re happy to coordinate with your insurance or previous dental records if needed. We’ll make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
