What to Expect
– Numbness from local anesthesia may last 1–1.5 hours after treatment.

The Most Common Complication
– The most frequent issue is self-inflicted injury from biting a numb lip or cheek — usually the lower lip.
If the Lip or Cheek Was Bitten
– A bitten area may swell rapidly.
– A white film may form — this is fibrin, a natural part of healing.
– Don’t panic — healing usually occurs within a few days.

Healing Tips
– Avoid hard, rough, or sour foods.
– Do not give hot food or drinks.
– Avoid fresh juices for 3–5 days.
